A Dedicated Service: The Welcome Desk for International Students and Researchers (SAIEC)

The Welcome Desk for International Students and Researchers (SAIEC) is here to support international students and help ease their arrival and settlement in France.

At the SAIEC Welcome Desk, a multilingual team is available to assist you with key administrative procedures: checking or submitting residence permit applications, applying for housing benefits (CAF – Family Allowance Fund) or health insurance (CPAM – Primary Health Insurance Fund), and finding accommodation.

The International Mentorship Program

International students who would like guidance during their first days in France can join the International Mentorship Program. This personalized welcome initiative is coordinated by the SAIEC and the Crous of Montpellier-Occitanie, in partnership with the international relations offices of local universities.

Available in Montpellier, Nîmes, Perpignan, Béziers, Mende, and Narbonne, the program pairs you with a French or international student to help you settle into your new city.
