Montpellier Management pursues a proactive policy to develop work-study programs, which are a pathway to excellence and employability for students. This guarantees that students benefit from a professionalization process that is perfectly aligned with the realities of the working world.

With work-study status:

  • It is not possible to receive the scholarship. Please notify CROUS that you are enrolled in a work-study program.
  • You are covered by the general social security system.

Practical Information

Montpellier Management ensures that its programs meet the specific needs of different sectors of activity. There are many reasons to study through a work-study program:

Thanks to the joint commitment of the student, the company, and Montpellier Management, work-study students can build their future by discovering the world of work while earning a nationally recognized degree.

There are two types of employment contracts governed by the Labor Code for work-study programs. We accept both types of contracts. The choice of contract is left to the company.

The apprenticeship contract is a work-study contract that allows apprentices to pursue work-study training at Montpellier Management and in a company in order to acquire a professional qualification recognized by the State.

For whom?

  • For individuals aged 16 to 29.
  • For those over 30 years of age, subject to certain conditions: persons with disabilities, termination of a previous apprenticeship contract, continuation of studies through apprenticeship, plans to start or take over a business, and high-level athletes.

In what type of company?

Any company subject to the apprenticeship tax, including public companies, local authorities, associations governed by the 1901 law, temporary employment agencies, public industrial and commercial establishments (EPIC), liberal professions, and employer groups.

Sous quel contrat de travail ?

  • Fixed-term contract whose duration must be at least equal to the duration of the training program:
    DCG 2 prep course / DSCG 1 prep course / Master’s 1 = 2 years
    DCG 3 prep course / DSCG 2 prep course / Professional bachelor’s degree / Master’s 2 = 1 year
  • CDI

Under what status?
Full-time employee, holder of a “student trade card,” apprentice.

How long does the training last?
402 hours minimum.

Support and follow-up?

  • In the workplace, students are supervised by an apprenticeship supervisor who holds the relevant diploma or equivalent qualification and has two years’ experience in a field related to the diploma being studied, OR who has three years’ professional experience in a field related to the diploma being studied.
  • During the program, students are monitored by their academic advisor, who is assigned at the beginning of the academic year by the program director.

The professional training contract is a work-study contract that allows the “trainee” to acquire a professional qualification or to supplement their initial training with an additional qualification recognized by the State, with a view to obtaining a specific position within the company.

For whom?

  • Individuals aged 16 to 25
  • Job seekers aged 26 and over
  • Recipients of RSA income support, Specific Solidarity Allowance, or Adult Disability Allowance
  • People who have benefited from a single integration contract

In what type of company?

Any company subject to vocational training funding, including temporary employment agencies, employer groups for integration and qualification, public industrial and commercial establishments (EPIC), and private employers.

Under what employment contract?

  • CDD of 6 to 12 months (or even 24 months), renewable once
  • CDI

The contract must begin before the start of the training.

Under what status?

Full-time employee, holder of a “student trade card”; continuing education trainees.

How long does the training last?

15% to 25% of the total duration of the professional training contract is dedicated to teaching and assessments, included in working hours. This duration cannot be less than 150 hours or more than 455 hours (unless a sectoral agreement extends this duration beyond 25%).

Support and follow-up?

In the workplace, the student is supervised by a mentor, who may be an employer or an employee of the company.

The Professionalization Office supports both students and host organizations throughout the year, working in collaboration with key training partners such as: CFA ENSUP LR, IFRIA Occitanie, DIFCAM, CFA for Private Healthcare Establishments

Together with these partners, Montpellier Management organizes information sessions, workshops, and participates in major career events led by the University of Montpellier, all aimed at facilitating professional integration.

At the same time, university students have access to a dedicated tool for viewing targeted internship, work-study, and job offers: ResUM.

A new plan to reform the financing of apprenticeships will be implemented from July 1, 2025.

How to start a work-study program at Montpellier Management

The conditions for access to work-study programs are identical to those for initial training, with a copy of the work-study contract required.
