Le Dr. Sea Matilda Bez, est docteur en science de Gestion, normalienne et agrégée d’économie-gestion.
Elle travaille actuellement avec UC Berkeley pour sa recherche sur l’open-coopetition et l’intelligence artificielle. Elle cherche à comprendre comment innover avec un concurrent et plus particulièrement comment partager ses informations stratégiques lorsque toute information partagée peut renforcer son partenaire/concurrent. Sujet de recherche sur lequel elle a défendu une thèse et pour lequel elle fut lauréate ou finaliste de nombreux prix nationaux et internationaux.
En plus de ses activités académiques (chapitres de livre, communications internationales, et cours en stratégie/management/intelligence économique), elle a effectué plusieurs interventions auprès de professionnels (CIO de la Silicone Valley, le groupe pétrolier Total, les Chambres de commerce et d’industrie et la banque CIC). Une de ses interventions appréciées par les professionnels/MBA s’intitule : « Unlock value with coopetition : the good, the bad and the ugly».
Dr. Sea Matilda Bez completed her Ph.D on “Strategizing and Managing Coopetition”. Her Ph.D. highlighted one of the most successful coopetitive projects: a coopetitive project that generated 100 billion dollars. The interested stake of her research describes how competitors can share their core competitive advantage transparently and even teach each other how to become stronger. It is counter-intuitive and in contradiction with the traditional strategic approach of keeping secret firms’ core competitive advantage. Now, she does her research with Henry Chesbrough at Berkeley California University on open –coopetition. More precisely, she is looking at the Artificial Intelligence Technologies. She wants to understand how are firms involved in AI consortiums and how these consortiums are used to unlock the value creation and value capture opportunities of AI.
Moreover, in addition to academic activities, she has given invited presentations in front of innovation directors and alliance managers from the Silicon Valley or French companies, and be in charge of fostering some collaborative environment between the academic and practitioner for Avery Dennison, Enel, Tech Mahindra.
