The Master’s Year 2 Management Research and Studies provides students with a high-level education in management. It prepares them for careers in the fields of management science research and analysis, either through placement in consulting firms specializing in business and organizational management or through integration into a university research team with a view to pursuing a PhD. The program focuses on the design and management of research projects and mastery of the main data collection and analysis tools, enabling graduates to join management research and consulting firms in roles such as consultant, research analyst, or account manager. The teachers are academics with internationally recognized research expertise. This master’s program is the result of a partnership between Montpellier Management and IAE de Montpellier.

Who is this for?
This program is ideal for students wishing to specialize in the analysis and production of knowledge in the field of management sciences. It targets individuals with an interest in academic research, management studies and expert functions within organizations. The program provides training in key competencies such as research methodology, data analysis and strategic diagnosis. It also equips students to design and carry out in-depth investigations into managerial issues, while strengthening the critical and analytical skills essential for effective decision-making.
Application requirements
The Master 2 program is open to:
- students pursuing a dual master’s degree in management
- students who have already completed a Master 2*
*Subject to the compatibility of the course units taken in the area of introduction to social science research in the relevant Master 2 program.
Foreign students who are not members of the European Union and do not have a French degree must first submit an application to CAMPUS France. Applications will only be reviewed once this formality has been completed.

The master’s program is a one-year program, consisting of a Master 2.
Objectives
This program aims to prepare students for a career in the fields of academic study and research, either by joining consulting firms specializing in business and organizational management upon completion of the program or by joining a university research team to pursue a PhD. Upon completion of their PhD thesis, students may apply for teachers-researchers positions at French or foreign universities, business schools and public research institutions.

Tuition fees
For students who do not receive scholarships, the registration fees are as follows:
Master’s degree: €254 for the 2025/2026 academic year (this fee includes diploma fees, tuition fees, and university library membership).
For students receiving scholarships who provide proof of conditional notification at the time of registration, no registration fees will be charged. The CROUS will pay the registration fees owed to the institution through the scholarships allocated to the student.
In addition, all students enrolled in initial training at a higher education institution must pay the Student and Campus Contribution (CVEC) before registering. This can be done online at cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr.
