The Master Hospitality and Tourism Industry Management (MSHT) trains future managers for the tourism industry. Graduates will be able to work in France or abroad as executives in tourism, the international hotel industry or the hospitality sector.

The program has been certified as a “French Program of Excellence in Tourism” by the CFET (Conference of Programs of Excellence in Tourism).

The program focuses on professions with significant recruitment opportunities and career advancement (hotel managers, management executives, revenue managers, consultants, marketing or public relations managers in the hospitality industry, directors or advisors at national or regional tourism boards, hospitality management consultants, e-tourism specialists, sustainable tourism project managers, etc.). This program effectively prepares students for entry into the professional world through management and strategy courses specific to the hospitality and tourism sectors, as well as through internships lasting 2 months in the first year of the master’s program and at least 4 months in the second year.

Who is this for?

The Master MSHT is ideal for those who wish to specialize in strategic management within the hospitality and tourism sector. This program equips students with essential skills in management, project management, revenue management, business models, geopolitics, digital strategies, sustainable tourism, management control, customer experience and tourism.

Application requirements

The Master 1 & 2 Hospitality and Tourism Industry Management (MSHT) is one of the master’s degrees in the field of Management and Strategy (mention Strategic Management). Students can join this program in the first or second year.

The Master 1 is open to students who hold a bachelor’s degree, a BUT, a business school’s degree or a three-year degree (BAC+3) recognized as equivalent upon completion of 180 ECTS credits. Pre-selection is based on the application, academic or professional qualifications and background. Final selection is made following an interview.

The Master 2 is open to:

  • Holders of a four-year degree in a equivalent field, validated by the completion of 240 ECTS credits.
  • Directly to students holding the M1 Hospitality and Tourism Industry Management (MSHT) from Montpellier Management (without an application or interview). For other applicants: the initial screening is based on the application materials, taking into account academic credentials and professional background; final selection is made following an interview.

The IAE message score test is mandatory for M2 applicants who do not have an M1 in MSHT.

Foreign students who are not members of the European Union and do not have a French degree must first submit an application to CAMPUS France.

The master’s program lasts two years, from M1 to M2. Students can enter the master’s program in the first or second year.

The Master Hospitality and Tourism Industry Management (MSHT) provides the essential skills needed to work in management positions in an international environment. Tuition fees

For students who do not receive scholarships, the registration fees are as follows:

  • Master’s degree: €254 for the 2025/2026 academic year (this fee includes diploma fees, tuition fees, and university library membership).

For students receiving scholarships who provide proof of conditional notification at the time of registration, no registration fees will be charged. The CROUS will pay the registration fees owed to the institution through the scholarships allocated to the student.

In addition, all students enrolled in initial training at a higher education institution must pay the Student and Campus Contribution (CVEC) before registering. This can be done online at cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr
